We need an animated GIF that we can use for marketing on the website and for places like email signatures. We have both an Logo and Icon we want animated.

Our product, flik, moves information from one place to another.

We have a general idea of what we want. We have included a vector and PNG of our logo.

Submissions should be the RED version only. After a winner is selected, we will have you create several versions with the different colors in the vector example.


Part 1: LOGO: Start with red version ONLY. We want the animation to show movement inside the existing logo. Example (but don't limit yourself to this) is to highlight the dot over the i and then the 2 radio waves, one at a time.

In some cases we will want Part 1 only.

Part 2: Building on the animation of Part 1. Show destination devices, screens, desktops, phones, "receiving" a flik. The progression from the logo to the right should be smooth and show the concepts of (1) movement and (2) placement. For submissions with 3+ stars we will chat with you and guide you.

Part 3: Only for the Contest WINNER. Separate animation. Animate the icon. This should be super-easy if you do well on the LOGO. For this we want something real simple that stays within the boundaries of an icon. Start with larger size so we can easily scale to 512,128,64,32 pixels squared.

MY RULES: READ CAREFULLY!!

1. Do NOT comment in the general discussion area. this is for me to give advice & guidance. If you get at least three stars, I will chat with you. Telling me to "check entry xxx" will get you rejected.

2. When developing a design, and I give you feedback, only change what I ask. It is hard to track multiple changes.

3. Be original. If you copy someone else exactly, I will deduct a star from your rating.

4. Follow the COMMENTS area. My feedback will guide the winning entry. Things may change so read my latest comments before working on your next entry.

5. Do not submit duplicates. If you think it gives you more exposure, you are wrong. It creates more work for me... so I will reject both.

6. Similar entries. If you have 2 or 4 alternatives, submit them in the same entry in a 2x1 or 2x2 arrangement. WHY? It makes it easier for me to review side by side.

7. Animated GIF links. Not sure if animated GIFs play in freelancer, so do yourself a favor and include a link I can click on to view. This may change based on what I learn on first submissions

    General concepts
    -Don't animate monitors after they appear/move.,.. it is distracting. Trying to show the FLIK of a monitor, not what happens afterwards

    -After moving/showing the monitors, at the end show movement of (1) of the 1/2 monitors to another location

    -Never move more than window (I call them "slots") at at time.

    -No need to animate every monitor. Animate the first one, then move the others in maybe a simple animation on the last one. DO NOT SPEND extra time doing something not needed

    -At the END., Pause for 5 seconds, let it sync in before starting over. Think: email signature. The logo is primary, everything else is only an accept

    -Keep it as simple as possible

    I extended the contest 3 days to give me more time to with the 4 & 5 star designers. If you have not yet got a 4 or 5 Star, sorry, but I don't have time to work with everyone. I will potentially pick 2 designs. (1) to use in a web page and (1) to use as an email signature

    Everyone: An idea

    At the end of the monitor animations

    Try moving the on of the 1/2 monitor windows to an open monitor and switch sides, Like moving from the left 1/2 on one monitor to the right 1/2 on another. Be clear that it is moving from one place to another.

    POST as a GIF on google drive, watermark if you are paranoid. If I have to click into folder, download, log in, create and account, etc. Rejecting. 2 graphics, send 2 links, not a folder. I have to many designs. Make it easy for me

    The animation does not have to be contained in the logo space, you can add space to the right to complete the animation
